Project Overview
This project replaced an older alcove bathtub with a safer walk-in shower in a Signal Hill home. The focus was accessibility and improved daily use.
The homeowner requested improved access without expanding the layout. Drain location remained unchanged to control cost.

Existing Conditions
The bathroom contained the following before work began:
- High step-over tub presenting accessibility concern
- Aging tile surround
- Standard chrome fixtures
- Limited lighting

Scope of Work
Drain location remained unchanged to control cost.
Outcome
The new configuration improves accessibility while maintaining the existing footprint. The low-threshold entry and grab bar support safer daily use without the need for structural changes.
Tub-to-shower conversions are one of the most practical upgrades for aging-in-place without significant plumbing relocation.
